Our group at the end, me, Leslee, Sue C. and Mavis took a lot of pictures of each other, with both our own cameras and with the poser's camera.  Justin seemed amazed and asked if we all knew each other.  Someone said "we've met online" and he said, "you have each other's addresses and will exchange pictures?"  He seemed to think that was neat..

Justin was last and stayed until every last thing was autographed and every picture taken.  Gracious and kind does not adequately describe him.  I believe he thanked us for coming.  All the band members were kind and unrushed.  Although security had told us that we would have 15 minutes, it must have been double that.  And then it was over!

It was a great concert (thanks Moodykat for the front row seat).  ST was released that day, making it even more special for me.  I had picked up the last copy of ST at the Haywood Mall that morning and listened to it that afternoon before the concert.

The shock and thrill of the backstage "meet and greet" has worn off a bit since August. But it hasn't entirely.  I have achieved fan Nirvana and maybe it's that state of absolute blessedness that I still feel. And I did it without jumping them in an airport or lying in wait outside a concert hall.  Oh, I understand that temptation and may employ those methods myself as I move from novice to a full member of the Moody Blues fan order.  But I'll always remember that faraway look in their eyes, the empty look of eyes that have seen a million people and you're the million and first.  Those eyes can look all the way through you and you'll never know what they are really seeing or thinking.  A god's eyes.
